Joelle Drops Moody ‘Playing With Fire’ Ahead of ‘About You’ EP

We recently featured Joelle’s debut single Rather Be Lonely – with the track celebrating independence over toxic relationships. Joelle navigates similarly moody and emotive territory with his second single Playing With Fire, with both tracks scheduled to appear on the singer’s March EP About You.

The track, written by Joelle, and with vocals produced by GESS, draws inspiration from the same relationship as Rather Be Lonely. Joelle tells us “This song talks more about the frustration of knowing that you are only being led on and you both know you aren’t for each other and to stay in the relationship would be playing with fire. And I didn’t want to do that anymore.”

Like the most emotive tracks, Joelle’s own personal experiences feel evident in the track’s sharp lyricism. Lines such as “Why is love always such a game, when I lose I always take the blame … there’s nothing here left to fight, cause I’m done playing with fire,” showcase a sense of the story at the heart of the singer’s latest track.

As an independent artist Joelle is in the process of trying to put together a visual for the track, something that becomes easier if tracks are streamed and shared. We’d encourage you to delve into Joelle’s latest single above and connect with the handsome artist below on his social channels/music platforms.
