Norwegian singer Atle Pettersen is one of the lucky few granted an automatic place in the final of the country’s Melodi Grand Prix on the 20th of February 2021. Atle will be competing with his freshly released track World On Fire which you can hear above.
The soulful pop track feels ready made for Eurovision thanks to its anthemic chorus and immaculate pop production. The track is written by Atle Pettersen, Jesper Borgen, Magnus Clausen, Alexander Standal Pavelich, and Peter Daniel Newman. The chorus sees Atle sing “We’ll set the world on fire, The stars can burn brighter, The sky can go higher, Light up the night and let it burn,” against gradually mounting electronic and multi-instrumental production.
Atle will be performing the track during Melodi Grand Prix’s fourth semi-final on Saturday February 6th.
