VICTORIA’s Tears Getting Sober was one of the standouts of the crop of 2020 Eurovision Song Contest entries from the year that unfortunately didn’t go to plan. Thankfully Bulgaria’s VICTORIA is returning for 2021 with her entry due to be announced imminently. Preceding the news the star releases her debut EP a little dramatic which you can stream above.
Containing five tracks imaginary friend, growing up is getting old, dive into unknown, phantom pain and the funeral song, VICTORIA crafts lush dramatic soundscapes and delivers beautifully enigmatic vocals on the progressive slice of pop.
The singer notes: “This EP is a dramatic journey. The stories told in ‘imaginary friend’, ‘growing up is getting old’ and ‘dive into unknown’ are quite relatable – experiencing unrequited love, finding strength to grow as a person and move forward. They are inspired by my own experiences in 2020. With ‘phantom pain’ and ‘the funeral song’ the EP takes a dark turn. They are quite extreme and one can question if those are real experiences or just dramatic scenes of the imagination.”
