Benjamin Ingrosso and Felix Sandman united to pay tribute to record company boss Ola Håkansson as part of the interval act at the Andra Chansen round of Melodifestivalen 2021.
“We both have such a long and personal relationship with Ola so it is very honourable to stand and do something dedicated to him that feels personal and that we could put our own touch on it, but also to show people what legacy he has and what songs he wrote and produced” said Felix. Benjamin added: “What has been nice about all his artists is that he never gives up but he listens to the artist and lets it go its own way.”
Ola is a Swedish singer, composer and producer who founded the TEN Music Group which represents artists such as Benjamin, Felix and Zara Larsson, Prior to this he founded Stockholm Records and was a singer in the band Ola and the Janglers and later Secret Service.
As part of the medley Benjamin and Felix performed such hits as Dance You Off, Icona Pop’s I Love It, Zara Larsson’s Lush Life, and Ola Håkansson’s own Du Skänker Mening Åt Mitt Liv, amongst others. The pair have previously collaborated on tracks Happy Thoughts and Tror du att han bryr sig – the latter of which they performed at the 2019 Melodifestivalen final.
Benjamin has teased a mysterious new project VHS on Instagram with the date 19/3. Could this be the first taste of a new English language album Benjamin has been teasing? Felix recently released single Relations featuring Astrid S.
