Years & Years have released their first single since progressing as an Olly Alexander solo project. The single Starstruck is thought to be the first taste of Years & Years’ third studio album, expected some point in 2021.
Penned by Clarence Coffee Jr., Mark Ralph, Nathaniel Ledwidge, and Olly Alexander, the track is produced by Ralph and Detonate. Packed with euphoric electronic production, Olly sings “I feel like all these people in this room, Don’t shine like you, If I could bottle you up, I would sip ya, Like cosmic juice,” against sparkling synths. The track is elegant dancepop said to be inspired by Olly’s meeting with Rihanna on The Graham Norton Show back in 2018.
