Florida-born country talent Michael Ray has debuted his latest single Picture, a sentimental ode to enjoying life and appreciating the ones you love in the moment.
“So take every snapshot while you can, And tell them that you love them while you got the chance, Make sure that you take it in, Cause one day all you’re gonna have with them is a picture” Michael sings against emotive guitar instrumentation and production from Ross Copperman. The track is written by David Garcia and Michael Hardy. On his connection to the song, Michael noted:
“There’s a picture somewhere of me and my sister Brittney on Christmas Day. She has pig tails, my front teeth are missing and my Grandma Penny is standing in the kitchen. Grandma passed away a few years ago now, but that picture of her in the kitchen will last forever. That’s why I wanted to write this song… because one day all any of us are going to have of our loved ones is a picture. I like to think Grandma Penny is up there in heaven with my Grandpa Amos, my Uncle Terry and my Aunt Debbie looking down on us smiling. Take every snapshot while you can, y’all.“
Picture follows Michael’s previous single Whiskey and Rain. The two tracks are thought to feature on the singer’s third studio album. His second album Amos charted at #5 in the US Country album charts in 2018.
