Michael Oakley is set to delight synth fans with the release of both an official video for single Glasgow Song, featuring Canadian pop siren Dana Jean Phoenix, and the release of his third album Odyssey.
“If there’s a chance then I’m gonna take it, I tell myself I’ve nothing to lose, But every time I leave here for something, I can’t help but fall back to you, When all I need is one chance at finding my place, It’s time to leave downtown cold heart of this space…” Michael and Dana sing on the anthemic chorus for the synth-drenched single, with maximum impact delivered in an enchanting black and white video. The song sees Michael sing of his love for his home (complete with a bagpipe interlude courtesy of Lorne MacDougall), with the star now being based in Canada.
The track features on the eight-track Odyssey album which sees Michael collaborate with producer Jon Campbell and fellow synthpop star Ollie Wride. You can stream the album above. CD, cassette, mini disc, and various exclusive vinyl formats are available here.
