“It’s a soundtrack for modernity, addressing sexuality, sexual fluidity, identity and equality. As a proud queer black man I wanted to create something that gave a voice to my experience and a voice to folks whose stories the majority of time are not told,” iamrebelwill notes on new single Addicted and its wider-project RebelFuturism. The track is a hook-filled, elegant dance-pop gem which sees the aspiring talent shine as soulful vocals glide across fresh production.
The singer notes: “I spent a huge portion of my life afraid to be myself and this project allows me to finally be authentically Rebel!” The single is centred on the idea of looking back at a first time relationship, falling in love and trying to understand the experience. iamrebelwill co-writes with Tafari Anthony with Nick Katz stepping in for production duties.
The track, an unapologetic statement about self-acceptance, marks a further glimpse into the world of RebelFuturism. To stay in the loop with the project, connect with iamrebelwill below.
