Canada’s Drag Race winner Priyanka continues her ascent to global stardom with new single Cake, the first single from the Queen’s upcoming summer scheduled visual EP. Priyanka draws inspiration from contemporary superstar girlgroups for the anthemic, empowering new anthem that is arrives alongside a murder-mystery themed music video questioning “Who killed Priyanka?”
With cameos from Juice Boxx, Kiara, Boa, Ilona and Tynomi Banks, the video for Priyanka’s single is chock-full of delights for drag enthusiasts. The video also shines in the plethora of looks served by Priyanka helping showcase an eclectic creative feast.
On the single, Priyanka notes: “As a BLACKPINK stan–I mean come on, they’re legends–I wanted my music to reflect the way I feel when I listen to a girl group or watch them perform. I make music for the queer kid dancing and singing alone in their room dreaming of being a pop star. It’s like I’m part of a one-queen girl group, and the other members of the group are my fans. My mission is to create anthems for them to escape!”
Priyanka also recently featured on Brooke Lynn Hytes’ single and music video Queen of the North back in March. She also has two self-released singles Say My Name and You Look So Good under her belt.
