Jake Shears continues his impeccable run of solo releases with the freshly dropped Do The Television. The track which began its life as a Scissor Sisters’ song for the album Night Work has been polished and tweaked into a solo track by the band’s former frontman. He shared the release on Instagram noting:
“Do The Television, out Friday! So stoked to finally put this song out, it’s been so many years in the making. With the help of @u_tern & @rylandblackinton, we turned what had once been a sketch from the Night Work era into the jam you hear now. The video, also out on Friday was made with incredibly meticulous care by @steviebe88 and @videodromedisco. I hope you love the song and video as much as I do. And may you learn “The Television” I hear it takes some practice.”
Do The Television is dramatic, eighties-flavoured gem with avant-garde flavoured lyricism. It follows Jake’s collaborations with Boys Noize All I Want and solo release Meltdown. This is written by Jake, Ana Matronic Babydaddy, and Vaughn Oliver – the latter producing also.
