Ninety-one year old Clint Eastwood continues to show no signs of slowing down, directing and starring in the upcoming Cry Macho. Scheduled for a November 12th release in the UK, the project is Eastwood’s first time in front of the camera since 2018’s The Mule and most recent directorial project since 2019’s Richard Jewell. The film’s official synopsis notes:
The film stars Eastwood as Mike Milo, a one-time rodeo star and washed-up horse breeder who, in 1979, takes a job from an ex-boss to bring the man’s young son home from Mexico. Forced to take the backroads on their way to Texas, the unlikely pair faces an unexpectedly challenging journey, during which the world-weary horseman finds unexpected connections and his own sense of redemption.
Warner Brothers UK
Eastwood is joined by country star Dwight Yoakam, newcomer Eduardo Minett, and Natalia Traven. Cry Macho is written by by Nick Schenk and N. Richard Nash, based on the novel by Nash.
We’re always glad to have more Clint to watch – let’s hope it’s slightly less tone deaf that The Mule.
It opens in UK cinemas November 12, 2021.
