The legendary Tori Amos has announced details of her sixteenth studio album, Ocean to Ocean. The American singer-songwriter reteams with Decca Recordings for the set which follows her 2017 album Native Invader.
A statement to accompany the announcement shares: “In spite of the various crises that have occurred since 2017’s Native Invader, Tori Amos has emerged with Ocean to Ocean, her most personal work in years – an album bursting with warmth and connection, with deep roots in her earliest song writing.”
The album was written in the “3rd Lockdown” (if you’re still managing to keep track of that sort of thing now) in Cornwall and centred on the story of “going to rock bottom and renewing yourself all over again.”
The collection is set to be inspired by such concepts as tange, wide-screen romance and big-heartedness – paying tribute to the idea of love for family past and present.
Ocean to Ocean is accompanied by striking artwork capturing Tori at Cornall’s shores.
Ocean to Ocean is available from October 29th with the vinyl release to follow in February 2022.
