We are still not quite over the fact that in around ten days we will have a new ABBA studio album arriving in the form of Voyage. Like thousands of others, Don’t Shut Me Down and I Still Have Faith In You have cemented themselves in our hearts as bonafide ABBA classics. The iconic Swedish stars have delivered another track from the ABBA – the hugely nostalgic Just a Notion.
Unlike the previous two singles, Just a Notion is a classic ABBA track that was recorded for their Voulez-Vous album in 1978 but did not fit the more dance-pop centric vibes of the LP and was subsequently shelved. The track undoubtedly feels like a seventies ABBA track thanks to its original vocals, yet it has been polished up with updated instrumentals. While this feels slightly less essential than Don’t Shut Me Down and I Still Have Faith In You, it is still a blessing to have any unheard ABBA music.
