Calum Scott keeps the tempo high on his latest single, a fresh summer banger called Roots. The number sees the UK singer-songwriter continue his partnership with Universal Music, whilst carrying on the journey to his anticipated third studio album.
Roots is an anthemic number with Calum’s soulful vocals paired with rousing anthemic production from Six SaidIt, Dino Medanhodzic and Jon “MAGS” Maguire. Calum co-writes with Jon Maguire, Mike Needle and Richard Boardman, with lyrics such as “Every time it takes me to my roots / Like a dizzy summer bloom / Got me thinking about you / My roots / Getting higher than the moon / Got me thinking about you,” providing a hopeful and optimistic summer ready vibe.
Calum shared: “A song that I teased like mad is yours now to soundtrack your summer, your holiday, your 2024! Seeing so many of you sign up for presaves and seeing the love on the run up to this release has blown me away – it’s more love than I think I’ve ever had before on new music and I think that marks a chapter into the artist I am becoming and the mark on the world of music I feel like I’m making!!”
