Vanessa Williams made a triumphant return to the pop world with her incredible comeback anthem Legs earlier this year. The triumphant middle-finger to ageing showed that Vanessa was still every bit the pop queen that fans will remember from her albums The Right Stuff and The Comfort Zone. Vanessa will be releasing her first album in fifteen years in the coming months and continues the journey to the LP release with new single BOP!
The track sees Vanessa collaborate with her fellow Queen of the Universe star Trixie Mattel and her very own flesh and blood, daughter Jillian Hervey of R&B-pop duo Lion Babe. BOP! is written and produced by Mel Holder and Kipper Jones, and sees Vanessa deliver her deliciously confident swagger and charisma, atop high energy electronic pop production which celebrates the world of ballroom.
BOP! is accompanied by an official video that sees Vanessa and Jillian tour various London hotspots. The video is joined by a note which shares: “Vanessa Williams invites us into her own personal fantastical ballroom environment complete with your favorite world famous drag queen, Trixie Mattel as the Mistress of Ceremonies, and joined by the iconic LION BABE.”
