B-52s Legend Kate Pierson Returns to the Dancefloor On ‘Take Me Back to the Party’

Kate Pierson found international acclaim and musical success as part of unshakeably cool new wave icons The B-52s, going on to release her debut solo album in 2015, dubbed Guitars and Microphones. Near ten years on, the pop icon returns with long-awaited follow-up Radios and Rainbows arriving on September 20th. Kate gives us another taste of the album, following previous single Evil Love, with the new track Take Me Back to the Party evoking her B-52 new wave dance sounds.

Kate shares: “I wanted this song to connect with B-52s fans. It’s a disco song that conjures a younger Kate back in the day when I just couldn’t wait to get into clubs. It takes me back to my Party Girl past! I just love a good dance song.” Kate works with Jimmy Harry on the new number. Kate has also previously released Sia produced number Every Day is Halloween from the LP.

Describing what can be expected from the full album, the new wave legend shared: “It’s an eclectic group of songs – anthems, dance things, a disco song… Overall, the album has an upbeat vibe because I wanted to put out something positive in these dark times. I wanted to make it fun!”
