Italian Eurodance act Double You – who shot to fame with their nineties cover of KC and the Sunshine Band’s Please Don’t Go – enter a new phase of their career with single Curtain Calls. The multi-instrumental mid-tempo is produced by Gino Martini, William Naraine, Rick Bonadio and Marco Canepa and the group’s first single with Midas Music.
The number is the smooth mid-tempo you would expect to hear on BBC Radio 2 these days, with it being the group’s first major original music since 2011 album Life. Those eagerly awaiting more music from the Italian group will be pleased to know that their next album will arrive in 2025, which is called One.
Vocalist William Naraine shares: “’Curtain Calls’ is a tribute to our fans, those who have been with us since the beginning. It is also a story of our life on the road, of the effort, the long journeys and the longing for home. Even after the lights go out, the show doesn’t end. It is in the dressing room, in the meetings with the fans, that we feel all the energy and affection they have given us over the years.”
Gino Martini notes: “This song is the first single from the album “One”, which will be released in 2025 by Midas Music. Our fans will be surprised by this new work. We are very happy with this new partnership and can’t wait to share more.” Whilst producer Rick Bonadio notes: “Double You has a history that transcends generations. It is a huge privilege to be able to work with such an iconic group that continues to reinvent itself. I am very happy to have them on our team and to be able to collaborate on this new phase of their career.”
