Drag Race Belgique star Rita Baga releases the second single from her upcoming debut album – an atmospheric cover of fellow Canadian Corey Hart’s Sunglasses at Night. The number follows Rita’s previous single C’est toi and taps into the dark new-wave eighties fantasy of the original number.

Rita shares:“Beyond its musicality, the lyrics of this piece can have several meanings, notably on the way in which one can be perceived by others via their different narrative biases. A way of reappropriating one’s story and seeing the light even if one faces darkness.”

As well as her debut album, Rita is currently working on Spraynet, her original show packed with cult eighties tracks, live vocals, and a live band. We’re delighted that Rita will be delivering plenty more music in 2025 and Sunglasses at Night is a truly exciting taste of things to come.

Sunglasses at Night was a #7 US Billboard hit for Hart in 1984. It was subsequently covered by German fashion icon Heidi Klum and DJ Tiesto earlier this year.
