Many of the biggest names in the music world have confirmed or dropped hints to expect new music next year, so we begin our annual rundown of the most anticipated releases. The year is set to draw several pop divas, musical legends, and rising solo stars to the fore with new releases.

Loreen

Loreen’s second Eurovision win with Tattoo in 2023 wasn’t followed by the traditional ‘winner’s album’ the following year, but it is hoped that Loreen’s third studio album will arrive in 2025. The Swedish star’s post-Eurovision singles Is It Love, Warning Signs, Gravity, and Forever are expected to feature on her first album in eight years. Expected to include collaborations with Icelandic musician Ólafur Arnalds, Loreen told Voir Magazine: “Each song is a representation of triggering a shock. It’s a very fiery one. It’s very energetic, but it has a very clear narrative: … I’m presenting chaos and harmony.”

Damiano David

Italian singer-songwriter Damiano David continues his solo journey with his first full-length English album expected in 2025. With a world tour planned for later in the year, fans are likely to hear the Måneskin frontman’s new music before then. Having released anthems like Silverlines and the 2024 hit Born With a Broken Heart, expectations are high for the Eurovision winner’s solo debut.

Madonna

From one icon to the next, Madonna looks set to follow up her divisive Madame X album in 2025, reteaming with producer Stuart Price, with whom she famously collaborated on the iconic Confessions on a Dance Floor. Six years after her most recent LP, Madonna notes, “These past few months [have] been medicine for my SOUL. Songwriting and making music is the one area where I don’t need to ask anyone for their permission. I’m so excited to share it with you. Who wants to hear new music in 2025?”

Christopher

Danish pop talent Christopher has had a packed 2024 touring the globe following the success of his Netflix feature film A Beautiful Life. The star managed to find time to fire out a few singles including ONE and Trouble, looking set to follow-up these with a full length album in 2025. This will mark the Scandinavian hunk’s first studio album since 2021’s My Blood. The star has been hard at work in the studio putting the finishing touches on the record which is scheduled for release later in the year.

Kim Wilde

Already teasing two tracks, Midnight Train and Trail of Destruction, British pop icon Kim Wilde will return with her new album Closer on 31st January 2025. The album, Kim’s fifteenth studio release, is said to be a spiritual sequel to her seminal Close album, and if the new singles are any indication of what’s to come, Closer will not disappoint with its high-quality, unrelenting synthpop sound.

Olly Alexander

Olly Alexander continued Years & Years as a solo act with the former trio’s third album Night Call in 2022, but now he moves away from the Y&Y moniker with his first album released under his own name: Polari. Led by Eurovision entry Dizzy, the album pays tribute to classic British synthpop acts like Erasure and Pet Shop Boys. For the release, Olly has worked with producer Danny L Harle, with further tasters from the album, scheduled for May, including tracks Cupid’s Bow and Archangel.

Lady Gaga

With a loosely rumoured release month of February, little is known about Lady Gaga’s eagerly anticipated LG7 album, other than the tracks Disease and the Bruno Mars duet Die With a Smile, which are slated to feature on its otherwise unknown tracklist. If these two tracks don’t signify a leap between genres, Gaga shared with the LA Times that the LP is “full of [her] love of music,” adding that it contains “so many different genres, so many different styles, so many different dreams.” Recent rumours suggest the album will be called Theory of Chaos, but this has yet to be confirmed by Gaga.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor

While Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s eighth album, The Invisible Line, won’t arrive until summer 2025, the star has already released its lead single, Freedom of the Night—a hedonistic return to the dancefloor for the Brit chanteuse. Spurred on by the revival of Murder on the Dancefloor (thanks to its use in Saltburn), Sophie has signed with Universal and collaborated with major pop names including Cathy Dennis, Richard X, Ed Harcourt, and Nile Rodgers.

Jade

Delivering nu-disco heaven with Fantasy and a progressive pop masterpiece in Angel of My Dreams, Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall’s solo career couldn’t have started more promisingly. The musician will release her single It Girl at the start of 2025, and fans are eagerly awaiting further details about her debut album.

Joe Jonas

Originally expected in 2024, Joe Jonas’s solo album Music For People Who Believe In Love was postponed with no confirmed release date. Joe has release two cuts from the album, What This Could Be and Work It Out, but shared he hoped to record a few more tracks to perfect the release before it was published – it’s expected that the Just In Love hitmaker will put the album out in 2025.

Antony Szmierek

Manchester-based artist Antony Szmierek will release his debut album Service Station at the End of the Universe in February, already impressing with tracks like Yoga Teacher and The Great Pyramid of Stockport. Anthony’s progressive blend of dancefloor-friendly pop and poetry delves into themes like father-son relationships and the hardships of contemporary British life, all delivered with wit, intellect, and infectious hooks.

Louise Redknapp

Louise Redknapp’s Heavy Love was a standout of 2020, proving the pop world still very much needs her. Following a Greatest Hits album, Louise is expected to release her fifth album in 2025. Teasing new track Get Into It (a massive banger) at Mighty Hoopla in 2024, Louise is rumoured to have worked with Jon Shave, Anya Jones, Karen Poole, Wayne Hector, Hannah Robinson, and MNEK on this dancefloor-oriented LP.

Blondie

Blondie’s follow-up to their 2017 Pollinator LP is lined up for 2025, with Debbie Harry and the band working with producer John Congleton. Band member Chris Stein shared the news, captioning: “With John Congleton. New Blondie record next year.” Blondie are known for evolving their sound with each album, so expect anything from New Wave to electronic pop to classic rock.

Reba McEntire

Country icon Reba released I Can’t in 2024, with the track expected to lead her upcoming album, set to be released through MCA Nashville. Balancing her commitments on The Voice and new sitcom Happy’s Place, Reba is keeping fans excited for what’s to come.

AJ Mitchell

AJ Mitchell announced his album As Far as the Eye Can See, the follow-up to his long-gestating debut album Skyview. With tracks like One on One, Passionate, Flowers on the Moon, and Foolish already released, the January-scheduled album showcases AJ’s versatility, blending soulful vocals with melodic pop production infused with dance, R&B, and classic pop elements.

Justin Bieber

Expected to be released in May or June 2025, Justin Bieber’s upcoming album will be his first in four years, following 2021’s Justice. Rumours suggest Bieber has collaborated with John Mayer and Ed Sheeran, pointing to a more pop-focused direction compared to his R&B-leaning albums Changes and Justice.

Nathan Sykes

The Wanted star Nathan Sykes returns to his solo career with his sophomore album Pieces of Me, set for release in March. Little is known about Nathan’s new music, but he will play a sold-out show at London’s Omeara during the album’s release month. Nathan’s debut, Unfinished Business, reached #11 on the UK album charts and included the Ariana Grande duet Over and Over Again.

Elton John

With work on his thirty-second album complete, Sir Elton John has delayed its release due to eyesight issues. The album, a collaboration with Bernie Taupin, is now expected to arrive in 2025. Describing the project in 2023, Elton shared: “It’s absolutely wonderful and it’s full of youth and vitality.”

Cher

While promoting the first part of her memoir, Cher has shared updates on her upcoming studio album, which she describes as her final project—though fans are hopeful the already completed but unreleased second ABBA covers album will surface. Cher has worked on the new record with her boyfriend and producer Alexander “A.E.” Edwards.

Robbie Williams

Riding high after his critically acclaimed primate-centred biopic Better Man, Robbie Williams has announced a series of stadium gigs for 2025 alongside a new studio album. Williams has confirmed collaborators for the project, including Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Supergrass’s Gaz Coombes, Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple, and Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath. With these contributors, a rock-centred sound is anticipated.

Delta Goodrem

Aussie hitmaker Delta Goodrem has released singles Hearts on the Run and Back to Your Heart, boasting an ’80s-flavoured sound. It’s expected these tracks will feature on Delta’s next album, inspired by her touring schedule. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Delta said: “Live shows are my real passion and I’m enjoying just being on the road.” Fans hope the LP will be ready by 2025.

Jamiroquai

Having announced a 2025 world tour, Jamiroquai confirmed in March 2024 that work on their first studio album since 2017’s Automaton is underway. With tour dates in November and December 2025, the funk group’s new album is expected to release around that time.

Marina

Marina is currently working on her sixth studio album, hinting at its release while supporting Kylie Minogue at BST’s Summertime concerts. In September 2024, Marina shared that several tracks were in production, raising hopes for a 2025 release.

Jessica Simpson

Although expected in 2024, Jessica Simpson’s long-awaited music comeback has been delayed for a predicted 2025 release. With her last original studio album released in 2008, Jessica reignited interest in November 2024 by sharing a photo in a Nashville recording studio captioned: “Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic. This comeback is personal. It’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.” Jessica’s Before He Cheats is coming soon.

Ringo Starr

The 84-year-old Beatles legend heads to Nashville with his new LP Look Up, produced and co-written by T Bone Burnett. Ringo has already teased tracks Time On My Hands and Thankful, showcasing a surprisingly fitting sound for his first full album in six years.

Felix Sandman

The Swedish pop talent will release album Yue in January, following his 2024 EP Sandy Karlo. Felix shares: “The whole album is about coming out of the dark and trying to discover who you are and who you’re going to be.” This will be Felix’s first album since his 2018 debut Emotions.
