2025 is shaping up to be an iconic year of national finals with countries across Europe truly stepping their game up to find their Eurovision Song Contest entrant. Malta is no exception bringing twenty-four tracks brimming with pop excellence.
Among the tracks are a controversial pop number that may cause a stir thanks to some cheeky language choices, Mediterranean pop bangers, operatic divas, and ethereal musical magic. We have highlighted our standouts from the line-up, but you can hear all entries on the official Eurovision website.
Malta Eurovision Song Contest is made up of two semi-finals – Tuesday, 4 February, and Thursday, 6 February, each featuring 12 songs. Eight entries from each semi-final will advance, leading to an exciting 16-song final on Saturday, 8 February.

Miriana Conte – KANT
Maltese R&B singer Miriana Conte has produced the viral anthem of the Eurovision season thus far with her racy Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 entry KANT. KANT means singing in Maltese, but after one listen to the track you will get a sense of what Miriana is going for on the cheeky entry. The track is written and produced by Benjamin Schmid, Sarah Evelyn Fullerton, Matthew Mercieca (Muxu), and Miriana. This is a high energy number, packed with attitude and sass that will cerainly leave you singing “Do-re-mi-fa-s-s-serving KANT.”
Dre’ Curmi – Te Amo
Dre’ Curmi provides Te Amo a Mediterranean flavoured bop delivered with swagger and sultry confidence. Crooning “Ale, ale, we’re living day by day, You make me go, Te amo (Te amo mo), Te amo (Te amo mo) Ale, ale, the sunshine on your face, You make me go, Te amo (Te amo mo), Te amo,” in the undeniably catchy chorus, Dre’ has brought a smooth breezy banger to the contest injecting some Maltese sunshine into the proceedings.
Raquela – Silenced
To quote Oprah, were you silent or were you silenced? Maltese Eurovision Song Contest regular songwriter Jean Paul Borg goes for the latter as one of the producers of Silenced from singer-songwriter Raquela. Delivering a ballad with big vocals and big emotion, Silenced builds with some intriguing electronic production effects which heighten the drama of Raquela’s immaculate delivery.
Martina Borg – Yo Listen
Martina Borg delivers upbeat pop cut Yo Listen, a funk-laced pop number that sees the singer-songwriter deliver lyrics of strength and independence as she sings of turning down an old flame – a breakup anthem with a bit of grit, positivity, and swagger. We love this one and are excited to see how Martina delivers it in semi-final two.
Kurt Calleja – AZIZ/A
While we would say the girls generally have the upper-hand in this year’s crop of Malta Eurovision Song Contest entries, Kurt is doing his best to impress for the boys. The big voiced pop talent delivers AZIZ/A, a contemporary pop cut that blends both English and Maltese lyrics with a brassy energy conjured by producers Kurt Calleja, Kevin Paul Calleja, and Edward Abela. Kurt may be familiar to listeners, having represented Malta in 2012 with This is the Night.
Haley – Whistleblower
We love a song that opens with the lines “Paint my nails enjoy a cup of tea, gossip spills – in one eighty degrees” and Haley Azzopardi certainly sells it. A whistle-along melody, a big pop chorus, and a Mediterranean energy to the production from KEiiNO’s Tom Hugo Hermansen, Benjamin Schmid, Siv von Bulow, and Haley, this feels very Maltese and refreshingly modern.
Stefan Galea – LabLab (Talk Talk)
Delivering a little of that Matt Blxck energy (he is one of the co-writers and co-producers after all), Stefan Galea’s energetic high camp electropop number LabLab (Talk Talk) is a standout due to its delicious manic intensity and Stefan’s fabulous shoulderpads.
Victoria – Juno
Victoria channels some of esoteric Loreen spirituality and fight in Juno, an ethereal pop anthem with a standout powerhouse chorus, impressive vocals and stage presence from its performer. Juno has a distinctive original production from Bas Wissink, David Hutchinson, Henk Pool, Mie Louise Nielsen, and Niels Sakko which helps it further stand out this MESC.
JVF – Festa (No Time for Siesta)
Another number graced by the hand of KEiiNO’s Tom Hugo is Festa (No Time for Siesta) from mixed vocal group JVF. Blending Maltese and English, Festa is a Maltese party anthem delivering feel good vibes, high energy and impressive vocal performances from band members Jessika, Victorio and Fabrizio.
Kristy Spiteri – Heaven Sent
Delivering a real Scandinavian pop vibe, Kristy Spiteri’s Heaven Sent is a pop banger co-produced by Swedish maestro Linnea Deb. A little like Malena Ernman’s La Voix meets a Maria Sur Melodifestivalen banger, Heaven Sent is a true treat and we can’t wait to see Kristy deliver it live.
