Pet Shop Boys complete their trilogy of Stuart Price produced albums with Hotspot which was preceded by lead single, Dreamland. The electronic pop duo also release new track Burning the Heather which takes on a more morose tone to its optimistic predecessor.
Hotspot is the fourteenth album from the band, following their 2016 release Super. The band also recently released their Frances Barber sung EP Musik which was released alongside the show’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe run.

The sombre Burning the Heather sees Tenant croon: “Autumn is here
And they’re burning the heather, Sheepdogs are running, Hell for leather
Seasons are changing, Time’s moving along, Give me a drink and I’ll be gone.”
We get the impression that the album may be somewhat similar in tone to the tranquil Elysium than the thudding disco bangers of Electric. We will find out more when the album is released on January 24 2020.
