If Paco Versailles are not yet on your sonic radar, you’ve got to get that sorted as soon as possible. The collaboration project between guitarist and composer Vahagni and songwriter and producer Ryan Merchant (of Capital Cities fame) is something massively unique.
Combining flamenco style guitars with electronic dance production produces the unique style that Paco Versailles have by the bucketload. Taking their first name from legendary Spanish guitarist Paco De Lucia and the very French location of Versailles (inspired by French electronic artists like Daft Punk), the duo have already released another of stellar tracks ahead of this week’s Black and White.
Dubbing their track dancemenco, Black and White has a distinctly breezy Eurodance feel, given added appeal through the punchy flamenco guitar. You can stream the track above. You can also hear the group’s other tracks: Libertine, Ventura Highway, Lilac Moon, Shangri La and Unwind on their Spotify. We very much like what Merchant and Vahagni are doing and hope you do too.
