Many will remember Alexey Vorobyov as Russia’s 2011 Eurovision entry with ‘Get You’. The singer now goes by Alex Sparrow with international releases, with his most recent ‘Let’s Stay Home Tonight’ arriving this week.
The handsome Russian singer’s new track is a timely release with a video exploring social distancing and life during lockdown. Pairing acoustic guitar with electronic production and the sound of pan pipes creates an enjoyable musical texture – as well as Vorobyov’s natural charisma also helping make the song an entirely charming affair.
Vorobyov‘s latest single as Sparrow have taken slightly more of a big band sound as seen in 2019’s Never Be Friends and 2018’s Baby You’re Mine.
