Jeffrey Bowyer Chapman Leads the Trailer for Queer-Themed Horror ‘Spiral’

The Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman led queer themed horror Spiral is quickly headed to the top of our most anticipated films of 2020 list. The Shudder original feature has been gaining a lot of traction at genre festivals, with many drawing comparisons to Roman Polanski and Jordan Peele’s brands of psychological horror in the project. Check out the official synopsis below:

“Malik (Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman) and Aaron (Ari Cohen), a same-sex couple, move to a small town in search of a better environment for them and their 16-year-old daughter (Jennifer Laporte). But nothing is as it seems as something sinister lies behind the picturesque homes and welcoming faces of their new neighbors. With Ty Wood, Chandra West and Lochlyn Munroe. Written by Colin Minihan (writer of the Shudder Original Z and the upcoming new Urban Legend) and John Poliquin, directed by Kurtis David Harder.”

There’s a real shortage of gay-themed horror out there so we’re excited that Shudder are bringing us this. Shudder Originals have generally been quite a high standard thus far with the likes of The Pool and The Beach House standing as two of 2020’s best horrors, so this is a further incentive to be excited for Spiral.

Spiral premieres on Shudder Sept 17th.
