Steps are really getting it right by choosing a generally unknown Melodifestivalen track (well, unknown out of the Eurovision/Melfest fan circuit) by Jenny Silver and bringing it to the general populous of the UK. The banger in question is Something In Your Eyes which feels like Steps making their transition into the UK’s very own ABBA. Yes, we said it!
The track features on the British pop favourites’ upcoming album What the Future Holds which is due for release on November 27th. Packed with euphoric production, prominent vocals from Claire, Lisa and Faye and a barnstorming chorus which screams ABBA 2020, this is one of the group’s finest releases of their career. Not changing anything too drastically from the Silver version – other than a quick polish, producers Barry Stone and Julian Gingell get things spot on. The track was originally penned by Erik Bernholm, Henrik Sethsson, and Scandi-Eurovision mastermind Thomas G:Son.
Something In Your Eyes joins lead single What the Future Holds and mid-tempo treat Under My Skin as the latest taste of the group’s second studio album since re-forming in 2017. Life is just better with Steps in it.
