Beginners centres around an elderly father making two important announcements to his son – the first that he has terminal cancer, the second – that he is gay.
It looks like it has the potential to be a heartfelt, yet amusing drama, and going by director Mike Mills previous feature Thumbsucker, it is sure to deliver. With a cast featuring Christopher Plummer, Goran Visnjic, Melanie Laurent and Ewan McGregor we’re likely to see some phenomenal performances.
Plummer has been cheated out of an Oscar for his breathtaking performance in The Last Station so fingers crossed that Beginners brings him some luck.
Beginners is out on limited release on the 3rd of June in the US and the UK on the 22nd of July.
