Why we’re excited? Well Mel’s been going a little off the rails recently, so it should be interesting to see how this does at the box office. Given Gibson’s last performance in Edge of Darkness, we’re expecting the same quality for this. Highly original idea and Foster’s a very capable director.

Drive Angry 3D

Nicolas Cage breaks out of hell, and ends up trying to prevent a satanic cult (who murdered his daughter) from murdering his grand-daughter at the next full moon.
Why we’re excited? Nicolas Cage goes from making awesome films to making terrible ones (See Bad Lieutenant and Kick Ass to Next and Knowing). We’re expecting Season of the Witch to be the poor one and Drive Angry to be the awesome one. From the looks of the trailer and Lussier’s earlier films this will be non stop horror action, guaranteed to keep the audience entertained. And William Fincher and Cage look badass!

The Resident

A young Doctor moves into a new apartment, only to realise that her landlord is obsessed with her.
Why we’re excited? This is the first true new Hammer Horror Film. Let Me In was a remake and lacked the true spirit of the classic Hammer films. The Resident appears to have tapped into the psychological horror genre, that Hammer focussed on during the late 1950s and early 60s through such films as Paranoiac and The Nanny. From the trailer it looks like a decent start to the new Hammer legacy. Plus Sir Christopher Lee, an icon of Hammer has a small role as Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character’s grandfather.

The Wicker Tree

Two young evangelical American’s come to Scotland to spread the word of God, however are lead into a trap by Sir Lachlan Morrison, to be part of the town’s May Day “tradition”.
Why we’re excited? This project has been in the pipeline for ten years, with everything coming in it’s way from – funding collapsing, stars being injured etc. With Lee originally playing the lead, but having to withdraw to back injuries, a lot of enthusiasm was lost on the project, however after seeing the trailer hopes have been raised. In no relation to the 2006 version of The Wicker Man, this can be seen as a spiritual sequel to the 1973 picture – containing similar themes and music.

Why we’re excited? The original Scream films were a phenomenon, reigniting the slasher genre and showed a clever twist on the horror genre. The original cast returning and a hot new cast is sure to breathe new life into the series. Most importantly – Courtney Cox is back! Courtney Cox!

Why we’re excited? Amazing cast and we’re looking forward to seeing Chris Hemsworth get his big break. With classy director Branagh, and Shakespearian star Hopkins, this is likely to be a mature take on the super hero genre.

Why we’re excited? Comedy films involving the porn industry are too hard to find (excuse the pun). We’re thinking Zack and Miri Make A Porno meets The House Bunny = good thing? Stephen Dorff as a porn star, is surely going to be entertaining for more reasons that one, and Christina Ricci doing comedy will make a nice change. Lack of footage and posters mean this crappy video is all you get.

Why we’re excited? Plummer deserved an Oscar for his turn in The Last Station, so we’re hoping this does it for him. The story, based on director Mike Mills own experience, is sure to be a touching and heart felt story. And after all the smut we’ll be seeing in The Hangover II, a good cry will cleanse our souls.

Why we’re excited? It’s likely to be an ‘in your face’ smash of Americana, but who says that’s bad? Fantastic ensemble cast and what seems like a solid Marvel story, we’ll be waving our star spangled banners first in the queue for this one.

Why we’re excited? We’re thinking Amityville Horror on this one. This appears to be a tastefully done horror from director Jim Sheridan (Brothers, Get Rich or Die Tryin’) and with a promising cast, we’re excited to see the end result.

Why we’re excited? 2010’s Clash of the Titans failed on so many levels – the last minute transfer to 3D, underuse of several fantastic actors, lazy storyline… However on this we’ve got an interesting and original director – a fantastic young cast, filmed with special 3D technology and a lot of effort invested. We hope this will be the big screen break for Tudors star Henry Cavill. We’ve also been promised a lot of ‘tit’ acting and nudity from Stephen Dorff.
