Miranda Lambert Unveils New Album ‘Palomino’, Drops ‘Strange’ New Single

Miranda Lambert has been keeping us fed recently with collaboration album The Marfa Tapes, a Pistol Annies’ Christmas LP and now a new solo record. The new solo album Palomino is due 29th April 2022 and sees the country chanteuse collaborate with writers such as Jack Ingram and Natalie Hemby.

The album is preceded by fresh single Strange, a track that thematically feels a little similar to Automatic as it centres on changing times. Previous single If I Was a Cowboy which hit the Top 20 of the US Hot Country charts, was a woozy wild west anthem and captures Lambert’s finesse as a storyteller. Yet the track we are most excited by is B-52s featuring Music City Queen which sees the US New Wave icons on their first track since 2008.

Lambert shared: “The making of this record has been one of the most fun and creative experiences of my career. Luke Dick, Natalie Hemby, and I went out to my farm in Tennessee in 2020 and started writing songs. We figured while we have time let’s get out to the country and see what happens. The first one we wrote was ‘Tourist’ and that set us on a path to create something with a bit of a theme. Since we couldn’t travel at the time, we decided to go on a journey through songs. I hope y’all are ready to travel with us wandering spirits and meet some cool characters with great stories.”
