Cheyenne Jackson delivers an unexpected banger in the form of his new single Celebrate Your Face, an electric eighties-flavoured pop anthem packed with electric guitar, synths, and powerhouse vocal effects.
The performer shares: “I wrote this song several years ago for someone in my family who was suffering with depression. I wanted her to see how beautiful and important and how much she actually mattered, even though she couldn’t see it at the time. I never did anything with it, I guess I just figured it would find a home when the time was right.” Cheyenne later pitched the track to his producers who suggested using it as part of Fox’s Call Me Kat which the actor performs in alongside Leslie Jordan and Mayim Bialik.
Cheyenne shares “I channelled my inner Duran Duran / Neverending Story / TOP GUN fantasy…and here it is.” Co-written by Cheyenne alongside Jason Brett Levine and Jessica Charlotte Vaughn, with production from Levine and Rob Schustack, Celebrate Your Face is a joyous new direction for the multi-talented performer.
Cheyenne’s latest album was 2016’s Renaissance which saw him take on numerous classic standards. We certainly hope that Cheyenne might explore this electric-pop sound on a future album or EP. We are very much here for it!
