Eurovision icons collide as The Rasmus and KALUSH Orchestra combine forces on In the Shadows of Ukraine. Taking a contemporary spin of The Rasmus’s global smash In the Shadows, KALUSH Orchestra add some traditional Ukrainian folk elements as well as a rap verse and a Ukrainian folk verse.
Kalush shares: “Our mission is to let as many people as possible know about this war and the courage of the Ukrainian people. Therefore, we decided to shoot a video for this song so that people could hear and see everything that we want to convey to the world with this new work.” Adding “They say that I must learn to kill before I can feel safe, but I’d rather kill myself than turn into their slave.” – reflects the feelings of Ukrainians during the long war in their country.”
Kalush and The Rasmus also join forces for a new video for the track which you can watch below. Both acts found success at Eurovision 2022 in Turin, Ukraine’s Kalush pipping the UK’s Sam Ryder to the top spot with STEFANIA, whilst The Rasmus’s Desmond Child produced cut Jezebel landed at 21st.
