Albania’s MIRUD releases Blind – the first chapter in his English language music journey. The Festivali i Këngës regular recently announced a partnership with Trax Records/Sony Music with Blind being the first taste of this collaboration.
Produced by Alban Chela and written by MIRUD, Blind retains a traditional flavour yet brings evocative vocal effects and slick contemporary pop production to the fold thanks to slinky electronic percussion and bubbling synths.
On signing with Trax Records, MIRUD shares: “From now on, my work in music continues in the USA, where I will focus on songs in English. I want to thank those who until today have not abandoned me and stayed with my art, every composer, lyricist, artist and close friend. Thanks to each and every one of you. Due to the tireless work that we have done together these 8 years, today I am very proud to announce that MIRUD is part of the Trax Records/Sony Music.”
He adds on Twitter: “I honestly still can’t believe it. I come from a village with 100 houses and as a queer Albanian artist I never thought today I’ll be writing this. I’m so grateful to each and everyone of you who stood by me.”
We are delighted to hear MIRUD deliver new music in English and its clear big things are on the horizon for the Albanian pop hunk.
