Swedish pop talent Omar Rudberg delivers a surprising cover of The Pointer Sisters’ dancepop gem I’m So Excited and we are well and truly here for it.
Omar first delivered the song live at Sweden’s QX Gay Gala last month accompanied by an orchestra, but now The Young Royals drops a club-friendly version complete with scintillating electronic production from Anders Hansson. Bringing groovy synths and added backing harmonies into the fold, Omar delivers the track with a spirited enthusiasm and sexy charisma.
Omar’s Club Version of I’m So Excited follows the release of his recent original track Call Me By Your Name with Claudia Neuser. The past year has been a big one for Omar musically, with his debut solo album OMR arriving last May from Sweden’s TEN Records.
I’m So Excited was originally released by The Pointer Sisters in 1982 and featured on their albums So Excited! and Break Out. It hit #4 in Sweden and #11 in the UK upon release.
