Wild Youth have been building up a name for themselves in their native Ireland and the UK for a number of years now with Eurovision always a goal for the Irish pop-rock talents. After emerging victorious from The Late Late Show’s Eurosong with their single We Are One, Wild Youth follow in the footsteps of luminaries such as Johnny Logan, Niamh and Jedward in representing the Emerald Isle. Editor Andrew chatted with Conor O’Donohoe of the band to chat all things Eurovision.
Conor delved into the importance of enjoying the whirlwind Eurovision, the experience of Eurosong, and coping with the pressures of social media. We also chatted about the rapid turnaround of shooting the music video for We Are One, the aspiration for the performance’s staging, and his favourite Irish Eurovision compatriots.
Wild Youth’s frontman also took part in our Liverpool slang round and showcased an impressive knowledge. Thanks to Conor for taking the time to chat with Culture Fix.
Wild Youth is made up of Conor O’Donohoe, Edward Porter, David Whelan and Callum McAdam. They will represent Ireland in Eurovision’s first semi-final on May 9th. Connect with them here.
