Troye Sivan follows his viral hit Rush with a further taste of his upcoming third studio album, Something To Give Each Other. The new number is Got Me Started an understated dance-pop number that samples Bag Raiders’ 2009 number Shooting Stars.
Troye shares: “When we were writing this song, I was emphatic about using ‘Shooting Stars’ — I just kept humming it in the studio. It’s a huge sample and was a big ask, and I knew that they had never approved it in the past. So, I’m over the moon about the opportunity to sample that track because this song is iconic to me.”
The infectiously catchy pop cut is produced by Ian Kirkpatrick and features writing credits from Chris Stracey, Ian Kirkpatrick, Jack Glass, Kaelyn Behr, Leland, Tayla Parx and Troye. It comes accompanied by a dazzling Bangkok set music video which sees Troye dance his way around the Thai streets. The video is a collaboration that saw Troye reunited with many of the creatives from the Rush video including director Gordon von Steiner.
Something To Give Each Other arrives October 13th. There’s no album tracklist yet, but the LP can be pre-ordered now.
