It was a pleasure to sit down with Swedish pop supreme Moa ‘Cazzi Operia’ Carlebecker who returns to Melodifestivalen with Give My Heart a Break next month. Cazzi has quickly turned into one of our favourite pop talents thanks to her slick pop cuts including I Can’t Get Enough, Taste of Heaven and You’re My Sunshine, so it was fascinating to discuss what she has cooked up for this year’s Swedish national selection.
We also found out how life has been for the singer-songwriter after her incredible success as co-writer of Loreen’s Eurovision Song Contest winning smash Tattoo, what draws her to the colourful world of K-Pop, and the inside scoop behind of her upcoming Melodifestivalen return.
Cazzi shared the secrets of visualising whether a track had potential for Melodifestivalen and explored some of her creative influences – as well as delving into her inner-psyche in our quickfire round!
Thanks to Cazzi Opeia for taking the time to chat. You can support her at Melodifestivalen in Heat 3 on the 17th February in Växjö.
