Benedict Cork has had fans eagerly awaiting his upcoming album Notes On A Hopeless Romance for some time, but now the singer-songwriter reveals the wait will be over May 10th. To help tide listeners over, Benedict releases new single Reasons I Loved You (I Can’t Think Of One), which continues to establish his impressive pop sensibilities – as also heard on previous single Soulmates.
On the new single Benedict shares: “‘Reasons I Loved You (I Can’t Think Of One)’ is everything I wish I could have said in the moment after a break-up. You know when Ross makes a list about Rachel in the TV show ‘Friends’? Well I loved the idea of writing a list of all the reasons I loved somebody in a song, but the page being completely blank. It’s pretty cutting, but it’s also very tongue-in-cheek and a heat of the moment thing! It’s a big, brash, soulful f*** you of a song”.
Benedict and fans have long-awaited the release of the star’s debut album Notes On A Hopeless Romance which arrives on 10th May via Kartel Music Group. Benedict shares, “It’s been a proper labour of love putting this together over the past couple years. Making an album is something I’ve always dreamt of doing and to finally have the finished collection of songs in my hands is quite a surreal feeling. I really wanted to push myself outside of my comfort zone with this project. It’s a big melting pot of brash, electronic, melancholic, gospel-inspired pop music that I hope makes you feel things and gives you some comfort in the chaos of finding love, especially queer love! It’s dedicated to all the hearts I’ve known, all the hearts I’ve fallen for a little too quickly, and all the hearts that have screwed me over, even if I’m still a bit bitter”.
