Interview: Jean-Pierre Barda Discusses New Army of Lovers Album ‘Sexodus’ and Artistic Legacy

Our editor Andrew was delighted to sit down with the lovely Jean-Pierre Barda who continues to shine as part of iconic Swedish boundary breaking pop group Army of Lovers. The trio, made up of Jean-Pierre, Alexander Bard and Dominika Peczynski recently released album Sexodus which now arrives on physical formats thanks to Boutique label Maschina Records.

Jean-Pierre shared how the new album came about including a collaboration with Ukrainian pop talent Olya Polyakova, explained the decisions to revisit classic tracks Israelism and Carry My Urn to Ukraine (now Clash of the Titans), and spoke about whether we can expect Army of Lovers back on a permanent basis.

Revisiting the band’s legacy, Jean-Pierre shared memories of Army of Lovers’ iconic Eurotrash appearances, taking to the stage as part of Melodifestivalen with the fabulous Rockin’ the Ride and his favourite AOL line.
