Drawing influence from entertainment legend Diahann Carroll’s memoir title, The Legs Are the Last to Go, fellow music legend Vanessa Williams releases her brand new single, Legs (Keep Dancing). The new single, a powerhouse dancepop banger is aimed squarely at the dancefloor and is the first taste of Vanessa’s upcoming studio album – her first since 2009’s R&B inspired The Real Thing.
The track sees Vanessa re-team with former collaborator Kipper Jones, who was also on the creative team behind some of the musician’s best tracks The Right Stuff and The Comfort Zone. The number sees the Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty star sing: “They say the legs are the last to go / Imma keep dancing / I’m still putting on the show / Imma keep dancing / Till I can do it no more / I go where they take me…” atop deliciously addictive dance production. Vanessa sounds truly flawless on the number and the star has us massively excited about her eagerly awaited new studio album. Whilst the release of the new LP is not known, it is said to tackle numerous genres pop, R&B, Latin, jazz and dance, all of which Vanessa has mastered in her impeccable career.
Vanessa shared her excitement about her upcoming music: “What a joy it is to be making new music behind the mike again with old friends. There’s a certain comfort in creating new works in the studio while reminiscing about how so many years in this business have brought successes, excitement, and lasting memories. Always moving forward is what drives me. Every challenge is exciting. And more new music to share with my fans is the fuel that lights my fire.”
