Michaela Jaé released the impeccable disco gem Something to Say back in 2021, but now picks up on the road to her debut studio album, 33, which is set to arrive on September 26th. The star dropped single I Am last month and now quickly follows this up with the slinky Green Lights.
Green Lights sees the Emmy nominated actress and singer play with sci-fi visuals which perfectly fit the scintillating electronic pop production from Micah Gordon, Nick Smith and PWP. Michaela Jaé and Nick Smith pen the track which brings sultry pop hooks and smooth vocals to the fold.
Michaela spoke to PEOPLE about the concept behind the track and video: “It was a story actually before I had written the song ‘Green Lights,’” noting the track was aimed at “the girls out there who felt like they kept stopping at a green light. “It just so happens that it fell right in the pocket of the meaning of what it was for [33F7] to feel like there are alarms setting off that are actual green lights.” The singer drew influence from iconic pop siblings Michael and Janet Jackson for the visuals.
