Ukrainian pop heroes TVORCHI look to the stars on their new album Planet X which arrives this week. The duo, who have been favourites of European pop fans since their impressive Eurovision performance of Heart of Steel in Liverpool, impress with the moody electronic sounds of tracks including Shine and Is It Over, whilst embracing some electronic pop fun on standouts such as Dubidu, Can’t Stop and Diva.
TVORCHI share: “Planet X is our most significant release in the band’s history. It’s full of mystery, futuristic and even a bit apocalyptic, because no one knows what will happen next. The last song of the album is called that: ‘Is It Over’. It’s a rhetorical question that everyone asks themselves today. It’s about the inner state: you’re fighting, you’re looking for motivation, you’re trying to live, but no one knows what will happen to this world. Each song here touches on various topics and feelings that are close to us today and those that are left in the past,”
TVORCHI have been hard at work on the album for three years and drew influence from the first part of the cult saga Dune, the game Cyberpunk and the movie The Fifth Element. They also draw inspiration from the talent of fellow Ukrainian artists: Klavdia Petrivna, The HARDKISS, and The Maneken.
Tapping into themes of strength, inspiration, and freedom, TVORCHI’s fifth album is a treat from start to finish. You can stream the set below.
