Hailing from North East London, rising pop talent Hugo Joyce has arrived with a bang delivering his first new music of 2024 in single False Hope. The singer-songwriter co-writes with Thomas Althorpe with the latter producing alongside Luke Burgoyne and Loric Mathez, crafting an anthemic pop number with emotive vocals, slick beats and a warming piano melody.
Hugo shares: “The song is essentially based on a break up. I was with someone who didn’t feel the same way that I did and it’s about me slowly coming to a realisation that the relationship isn’t sustainable. It’s better to be by yourself than hold onto someone who doesn’t want you. I think the track is extremely positive and almost inspires you to go out and take what you want!”
Hugo has previously opened for Culture Fix favourite Benedict Cork and works with impressive figures such as producer/mixing engineer Richard Wilkinson (Adele) and producer/mixing engineer Burgoyne (Louis Tomlinson). The group have been collaborating on new music, crafting songs that Hugo shares “will make you want to dance, cry, reflect and reminisce on past loves, both good and bad.”
