We were first struck by Amber Martin’s incredible vocals and magnetic stage presence during Jake Shears’ UK tour in support of his album Last Man Dancing. Now, the chanteuse with a stunning country voice and a gift for emotive storytelling steps into the spotlight with her latest solo album, Unbreakable Heart.
Available to stream now, the album showcases Amber’s impressive musicianship across a collection of gorgeous compositions, including Call Me Joe (featuring guest vocals from John Cameron Mitchell), Second Heart (with Jake Shears), and the sweetly reflective Until Marianne. With richly layered, multi-instrumental production, Amber shines whether delivering a tender, heartfelt ballad or cutting loose on raucous country stompers like I Left My Weed in Texas, the attitude packed You Better Don’t, or fiddle-driven solo rendition of the Jake Shears collaboration Devil Came Down to the Dancefloor. A special shout out should also go to interlude Papaw’s Yodel which will undoubtedly tug at the heartstrings.
Blending sentiment and emotional depth with energy and playful exuberance, Amber has crafted an enthralling country album in Unbreakable Heart, cementing her place as a performer truly at the top of her game.
