Israeli-Palestinian pop group as1one are riding high with their Paramount+ documentary series, as1one: The Israeli-Palestinian Pop Music Journey. The show dives into their formation, navigating the challenging response to the events of October 7th, and the message of unity that defines their music and bond. as1one’s Aseel Farah and Nadav Philips joined editor Andrew to talk about their journey in the music world, the stories behind their standout singles All Eyes On Us and Stranger, and what is to come from the band.
During our chat, Aseel and Nadav opened up about the intense audition and bootcamp process that brought them together, the cultural shifts of moving between Israel and Los Angeles, and the challenge of staying grounded amidst the pressures of fame and social media. The boys also gave an insight into working with Chic legend Nile Rodgers, recording at the legendary Abbey Road studios, and an insight into some of their new tracks.
With their debut EP set to drop in early 2025, Aseel and Nadav gave us a glimpse of what’s to come—and a few behind-the-scenes stories that prove this group is just as entertaining offstage as they are on it.
