Swedish eurodance icon Pandora celebrates her debut single Trust Me, which she debuted back in 1993, with a brand new version with Finnish producer AKRAS, which she dubs Trust Me 25. Brimming with angry electronic beats and Pandora’s fierce vocal, Trust Me 25 is an inventive high energy spin on the on the much-loved original.
“I’ve wanted to remake Trust Me for years, and with AKRAS, it finally felt right. Through this collaboration, I’ve found a sound that truly represents me today,” Pandora shares.“The future rave-inspired sound appealed to us both. The song has contrast — the shock and emotion, combined with an electrifying drop made for the dance floor,” AKRAS describes.
With a powerful spoken-word introduction replacing the original rap, there is an added depth and power lent to the new version. Pandora notes: “While I was recording the song, I felt as if I were talking to God. The song has grown with me, and now, 32 years later, the lyrics resonate differently. That’s the story I wanted to tell with this version.”
Pandora and AKRAS have an original song on the horizon, so expect plenty of new music from these dance heroes coming soon.
