Sometimes you can have a great concept for a horror film, but it loses steam under a convoluted plot or failure to establish a consisted narrative mythology. We’re hoping that is not the case for the upcoming Lights Out as it has a terrifying yet simple presence at its core.
Based on his own short film David F. Sandberg directs Lights Out, a film that follows a poltergeist that draws closer to its victims as the lights go out. Just check out the first spine-tingling moments of the trailer to prove that the concept is a great one – although proceedings look at little more dubious as it goes on.
With James Wan producing and a cast headed by Teresa Palmer, Lights Out will certainly find and audience and hopefully won’t disappoint.
Lights Out hits UK cinemas August 19th.
