A sequel to the okayish Snow White and the Huntsman didn’t exactly fill us with too much excitement, but when it was announced our favourite Evil Queen Charlize Theron would be returning – we were proven wrong. The additions of Jessica Chastain and Emily Blunt only furthered this newfound bliss, whilst the return of Chris Hemsworths’ Hunksman really sealed the deal.
However, we’re feeling a little unsure again after the so-so trailers. Whilst there are plenty of ‘Yaaas Queen’ moments presented by the sight of Theron and Blunt’s villainesses teaming up, we want to cry at the idea of Chastain playing a feisty warrior/Battlefield Earth extra. Enjoy the lengthy synopsis below:
Long before the evil Queen Ravenna (Theron) was thought vanquished by Snow White’s blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya (Blunt), suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya’s ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen — including Eric (Hemsworth) and warrior Sara (Chastain) — only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love.
