It might have played to mediocre reviews at this year’s Berlin Film Festival, but we can’t hide our excitement for the upcoming Queen of the Desert – and that’s only been heightened by the latest international trailer.
We’re understandably ecstatic as this is a project that combines our favourite film actress HRH Nicole Kidman with one of our most loved directors, Werner Herzog. Chuck in a sweeping score from Klaus Badelt, Peter Zeitlinger’s stunning landscapes, Jenny Agutter, and James Franco – then you’ve presumably got our new favourite film of all time.
Queen of the Desert is “a chronicle of Gertrude Bell’s life, a traveler, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer, and political attaché for the British Empire at the dawn of the twentieth century.”
There are no international release dates confirmed for this one yet – but stay tuned.
