Yoko Ono is one of the most exciting alternative musicians working and continues to be so well into her mid-80s. Outside her work associated with John Lennon, Ono has an expansive discography that although largelly centred on the avant garde has dipped into rock, dance, pop, and experimental music. With fourteen studio albums to her name, countless singles and numerous dance hits, Yoko’s discography is one of the most vibrant and interesting music bodies. We’ve taken the pleasure of dipping into Yoko’s releases to shine a light on our favourite of her tracks – we may have missed some of your favourites, so feel free to leave a comment berating us below.

Album: Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band
Bursting with a primal aggression, Why is not an easy listen or a massively enjoyable one. Blending rock and roll production with hetai the Japanese vocal technique – creates a startling blend – yet Yoko has become so known for this technique that it would be a disservice not to include one such track like this in our feature.
